Great job Alex. Looks sweeet. Do you mind telling me what the cost of the metal as well as all the fasteners it took build it?
Thanks Bob

I have a guy that will water jet the parts for 150.00 but I have to supply the metal. I am in the middle of a kitchen rebuild and have not taken the time to price out parts yet. Does that sound like a good price for the water getting?

Yes that is a good price for the service. I was quoted CA$58 (US$47) for the steel. Just make sure to ask if the steel is "tappable" as some is not as mild as others. ASTM A36 is easy to work with.

Hi Bob,
I guess it really depends on the material (e.g. zinc plated vs. stainless) and where you source the hardware. I went all stainless steel fasteners and got the fancy adjustable handles and so on at McMaster-Carr was about $130 + freight. That also included the two handles for the adjustable work rest. There were some items like flat washers where I could only get by the box even if only a few were needed. So there is some leftovers sitting in my shop.

I found it easier to order from one place and maybe have some extras than driving around to hardware stores looking.

Hey Bob sorry for late response ! life had me busy!! Dans estimate is about right , i spent 435 for cutting 357 for VFD , 125 for brandnew leeson motor on craigslist. 180ish for parts(bolts and such ) 95 for my drive wheel ,( 7 inches). 78 for idlers and tracking wheel . 65 for 12 inch contact wheel (i used a coupom). 100 for parts from metal supermarkets . 15 for alluminum table parts. !/2 inch thick table/ 1 inch thick mounts(estate sale ). 165 for hydraulic table ...and i think thats about it so about $1600 USD. but i put the profits of two knives i sold into this plus teaching a friend to make knives and supplying all the materials to do(i made some money with that ) so it was about 800 out of my pocket
