DC1 Eratta

Post by admin » Fri Aug 18, 2017 10:06 am

These are the issues discovered with the DC1 downloads.

ISSUE
2017-08-18, The slot (smile) on the platen D-plate (215) is based on a 1.5" radius while the pivot hole to slot spacing is 2". This causes binding when rotating the D-plate. Thanks to Jared who pointed this out.

CHANGE
Reworked the smile and set the spacing to 1.5" Applied to:
10-2,
11-3,
10-2 long platen and
11-3 long platen DXF files.

Updated Assembly Instructions to R2.

ISSUE: Holes on parts 203, 204 and 211 have holes to be tapped to 3/8"-16. However these three holes are sized for clearance at 0.375". This means they are too large to tap.

CHANGE:
Reduced these holes to 0.3125" for tapping.
Applied to:
10-3,
11-4,
10-3 long platen and
11-4 long platen DXF files.

Thanks for pointing this out Alex.

The work around was to order a female handle (McMaster part number 57455K47) for part 504 and put a 3/8" x 3/4" bolt through the tool arm into the handle.
The mount holes were enlarged to 1/2" on parts 207 and 208.
The holes on supports enlarged to 27/64" and tapped to 1/2"-13
Adjustable handle with a 1/2" stud was ordered. McMaster part number 64835K57 for one of the three part 501:
