Deeper D Plate

As an improvement suggestion would be to make a deeper D plate so the wheels and the tool arm are farther apart. This will allow for a person with large hands to work the left side of the platen without hitting the tool arm.

List of suggestions

Based on my build I'd like to suggest some improvements. In no particular order. 1. It would be nice if the drive wheel had an offset hub. It's certainly on the motor shaft and the key is locked down, but when up against a 3/8" plate there's only maybe 1.5" of usable shaft. 2. Have a place to mount ...

Re: PHIL FROM SOUTHERN ALBERTA CANADA

Hi Phil,

Nice to have you here. I've been to Redcliff before. You'd be just down the highway from Jim Clow. He's up in Tilley.

Some more pictures. The 12" wheel is on and the Craftsman Work Mate has been thoroughly re-worked.

Hi my name is Dan. I like to make knives and other tools. This is brainchild of sorts that I hope will grow into a remarkable project with the participation of the many talent makers out there.

Wishing you all the best!
