Re: Simko's Weld Together OSG
Life continues to get in the way of my build and I still haven't cut my parts out. I have been considering converting to a tab and slot weld together design as well. I like the idea better than a bunch of threaded fasteners and with the tab and slot design, the amount of heat/weld needed to hold eve...

Re: Hole locations front and rear mounts
Andrew, Converting to metric in a CAD program is usually very simple and just involves scaling the drawing to be 25.4 times bigger (converting from inches to mm). The real issue with converting to metric will be the available materials. This design is based on 3/8" and 1/4" parts with 1.5" tool post...

Re: Hole locations front and rear mounts
I have modified parts 207 and 208. I corrected the hole placement and opened up the slot on 207 to allow easier motion. I have also updated the base - opening up the slots 0.0025" in each direction to allow a better fit to the supports. I have sent the files to Dan as SR2. If there are any other iss...

Re: Refused file!
Ronnie - I have not had an issue like that in the past (but I load my own files on the water jet) Do they want every part fully dimensioned or just a single reference dimension? There have been a couple of errors found in parts 207 and 208. I've made fixes and once I verify another possible change, ...

Re: 207 AND 208 HOLE PLACEMENTS
There may be a problem with parts 207 & 208 the hole spacing for the holes that mount right and left frame are 1.7718 apart. in order to maintain 1.53125 spacing and to intersect the middle of the 0.375 plates they should be 1.9063 apart. this can be corrected by moving the holes farthest from the ...

Re: Hole locations front and rear mounts
Steve, I did not see any other issues with the model. As built things are a little too tight. If I built another one I would open up the tilt lock slot. That slot doesn't need to be tight. I haven't completed that part of my build yet because it will take a lot of filing. I would also open the base...

Re: Hole locations front and rear mounts
Thanks, I still have not had the chance to get a set of parts cut yet, so your feedback is great. I'll open up those areas you mentioned. I'm a little reluctant to go all of the way to 1.6 on the tool post. I'll have to play around with that one a little. It'll probably be OK. Thanks for your help. ...
